We really enjoyed our time in Cairns and the location of Cascade Gardens meant we could walk where we wanted to go. As far as accommodation is concerned, next time we will remember to ask for a ground floor as I have problems with my legs sometimes

We would have preferred a larger fridge in the unit as could not accommodate both food and a few beers. The food won. We enjoyed the bbq facilities and the pool.

We did something each day so wil itemise them


Reef Magic was just that magic. Excellant support from crew members particularly when I got sea sick.


Crocodile Cruise - very informative and interesting, enjoyed seeing crocodiles in natural state (I did not ponder on their future as coats or handbags). We particularly enjoyed the cruise back down Trinity Inlet .


Horizons Cape Tribulation trip. Superb. A long day but packed full with interest. We went to places we would not have gone to had we hired a car and drove ourselves.


We took the train up and back to Kuranda. I had expected the highlight of my trip to be the Barron Falls as I thought they would be surging, however they were a mere trickle, fortunately the Stony Creek waterfall was bursting with energy. I visited the Butterfly House and wished I had a couple more hours to spend there. The butterflies took my breath away. I had not seen a Ulysses or birdwing before and to see them in such abundance was a real gift.


We took the Sunbus to Palm Cove and enjoyed that too. The afternoon was spent resting and we then visited the Casino where we enjoyed watching others play. Dinner was good and inexpensive.


Off to Paranella Castle. Again I was blessed as I saw the ulysses butterfly in three different locations. We thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of this trip from the lush countryside, the Gillies hill (last time we were in Cairns we went up on our motorcycle but did not find that hill - next time we are on the bike we will certainly go on that road again), Lake Barrine and their scones, Milla Milla falls, the boulders, and the Castle. The vision and expertise of this man and his family was remarkable. I was also struck by the professionalism and the enjoyment staff members here had in the work they do.

The staff of all businesses we travelled with were excellant, informative, humorous and considerate. We also appreciated the presentation and freshness of the meals we had at the RSL Club.

We will come again and thank you for your assistance.
