Accessiblity:
Port Douglas is aproximately 50 minutes north of Cairns by road.
You can travel to the resort by limousine or coach from Cairns airport. Alternatively, if driving your own car or rental car, you will find Club Tropical Resort Port Douglas at the extreme northern end of Macrossan Street on your right on the corner of Wharf Street, opposite the Courthouse Hotel.

We were in Port Douglas for a wedding but took the opportunity to stay on for a few days. We didn't stray too far from Port Douglas itself (apart from a quick visit to Mossman Gorge) but didn't need to.
My wife and I both loved it there (we had stayed near Cairns before but had never been to Port Douglas) and will definitely go back there at some stage. The feedback from others there for the wedding was the same.
The accommodation at the Club Tropical Resort suited us perfectly being so close to the wedding (at the St.Mary's Chapel) and the reception (at the Salsa Bar and Grill) and also to the other restaurants and shops. Our children and a number of their friends were also staying there. Our room was good, the facilities were all that we needed, it was quiet despite it's central location and we would definitely stay there again.
