Port Douglas Retreat
The Port Douglas Retreat offers the ideal tropical getaway, situated amongst tropical gardens, overlooking parkland, marina and mountains.
We offer 36 self-contained, air-conditioned studio units with a variety of aspects with Queen or Twin beds each with its own balcony and dining setting. The architecture is both traditional and modern north Queensland colonial with the extensive use of timber in the entrance foyer/reception, balustrades, walkways and pool surrounds.
Built on two levels the building blends in with the major Coconut Palms and Melaleuca (Gum) trees that were retained and the many varieties of Palms and tropical plants that were introduced for both colour and variety and attracting many species of native birds. Enjoy the large freeform saltwater pool and barbecue area and while away the time relax and unwind from everyday pressures.
Being one of the most centrally located properties in Port but without the noise, a five minute walk will take you to Four Mile Beach or the world class Marina Mirage with its shops and Restaurants and your departure point for a trip to the Great Barrier Reef, or to the hub of Port, Macrossan Street with its tree-lined footpaths, where you will find an enormous variety of restaurants, street-side cafes, boutiques, art & craft galleries and gift shops.
Accessiblity:
Port Douglas is aproximately 50 minutes north of Cairns by road.
You can travel to the resort by limousine or coach from Cairns airport. Alternatively, if driving your own car or rental car, you will find Port Dougals Retreat on Mowbray Street.

We enjoyed our stay at Port Douglas and PD Retreat very well maintained and great service + close to main centre. We were impressed by the Safari Park (had breakfast there) and also drove to Cape Tribulation a great day. We look forward to getting down there again soon.
