Cairns is a great family destination with plenty of free entertainment for the kids. If you choose to stay in Cairns accommodation right near the seafront you will be able to easily access all that the Cairns Esplanade has to offer including:

1.    The Esplanade Lagoon – safe swimming in shallow water, lots of shade and sandy edges so bring the bucket & spade

2.    Muddy’s Playground – there isn’t a local Cairns family who doesn’t go to Muddy’s at least once a week! It is a fantastic huge park area including water activities with a café on site.

3.    The FunShip – less well known and located right at the top northern end of the Esplanade. The kids love it but there is a bit of a walk to the toilets so make sure everyone’s been before you go!
