Listed below are some of the comments we have received from past customers.
We had a wonderful week up in FNQ, which wasn’t quite long enough for me to get my rest and relaxation – too many activities that the family wanted to do together, so who was I to argue for sitting by the pool, or shopping for that matter (my boys hate shopping!!!). The Beach Club was a great resort, and our adjoining spa suite and apartment gave us plenty of room to spread out with the balconies opening onto the lagoon pool. As it was school holidays, there were plenty of kids and toddlers around, and getting a lounge chair by the pool deck or on the sand was near impossible – families would reserve their spots in the morning and keep their towels “saving their spot” all day. I’ve heard that a few weeks prior that it was very quiet with no kids in sight, so I guess its all in the timing. Room facilities were great!!
With a 9yr old and a 15 yr old our activities were our focus. We hired a car through Avis at the airport to make our lives easier. One day spent on the reef travelling with Aristocat – a great day, but remember the seasickness tablets!!! Snorkelling was great at 3 different sites, and the crew was fantastic!!
Another day travelling up to Cape Tribulation, stopping for a Daintree River cruise with Nice’n’Easy cruises. A wander on the beach, lunch at Cape Trib and they a drizzly afternoon in the treetops with the boys at Jungle Surfing – what a blast!!! For a person who is afraid of heights, they had me by the end of the afternoon hanging upside down, hands free, in my harness ,hurtling 20+m above the ground in the canopy, between two huge rainforest trees screaming my lungs out!!!! And I have the photographic evidence to prove it!! Yummy fruit icecream on the way home!!!
Skyrail and Kuranda rail took a day, with lunch and browsing at Kuranda (looking a little sad with many market stalls closed)- relaxing and scenic.
Another afternoon was spent at Mossman Gorge wandering the tracks through the forest, and having a dip in the beautiful river. At the AJ Hackett site my kids did the Minjin Swing together, then my 15 yr old did her second bungy jump (first in NZ when she was 12)! Met the man, AJ Hackett himself who was visiting the centre.
Also went to the Port Douglas markets on Sunday – Port Douglas has changed a lot in the past 12 years since I’ve been there, and I think I prefer it the way it was!!! Palm Cove was a lot smaller and nicer to stay in if you don’t want the busyness and bustle and shops and noise and nightlife (which we didn’t).!!! Had some amazing meals – revisited Nautilus, which was outstanding!!! And also On the Inlet in PD was great!!! Many nice eateries in PC also!!!
All in all, excellent value holiday even though activities for a family can be on the pricey side!. Booking through FNQ was easy, and allowed me to book my preferences a little more cheaply than other sites I had visited. What I saved on accommodation I could spend on eating out, so I didn’t have to slave in the kitchen!!! FNQ were prompt and efficient and more than happy to help with any queries I had and provide me with quotes for various services. I would again use FNQ Apartments, and recommend this service to others!
It certainly won’t be 12 years before we revisit this beautiful part of the world – we are already planning the “bits we missed out on” to feature in our next stay!!!
I was going to send a email through saying thankyou to Brenda for her help and assitance as we left the accomadation quite late to organise. The appartment was perfect and was what we where after, we were also were very suprised we had out own outside spa which was fantastic.
I believe the Manager of the appartments Allan was very helpful and organised free of charge our adventure to the Great Barrier Reef with Passion of paradise for snorkoling and scuba diving which was awesome fun.
Thankyou for all your help.
We were very happy with Mantra Trilogy – the location was superb and the staff were friendly, courteous and helpful
As for activities – we were on a family holiday and spend most of our time with our family that live in Cairns, so we didn’t do the touristy bit really. Have been to Cairns several times before and hope to come many times more.
Thanks for all of your help – we will keep your details on file for next time.
We had a brilliant time and since I had been to Cairns and port
Douglas before, we utilized our time up efficiently enough to have a good balance between fun/activities and leisure. We went Jungle Surfing at Cape Tribulation, White Water Rafting on the Baron River, did the scenic sky rail and train to kuranda too which were good. We also went out on the reef via Reef Sprinter.
I was kindly greeted by the young girl on the Monday afternoon
when we checked in. She was helpful. Also got an early check in at the last minute which was arranged by Megan which I was very appreciative of. We never come into contact with any other staff whilst in Cairns though.
I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to you and Troy for helping me plan and put together my special birthday long weekend. It was one of the best Birthdays ever!! 40 is not that bad after all. We both loved the hot air balloon ride too. The weather was a bit ordinary but it was still a great experience. I even had a flutter at the casino and walked out a 'winner'.
So again, I say thank you! Our long weekend at Palm Cove was very memorable and that apartment was the BEST place we have ever stayed!! Very impressive.

We had a wonderful holiday in Port Douglas, and enjoyed driving ourselves around and exploring the area. We went to Hartley's Crocodile Park which was an entertaining day, and also went to Mossman Gorge and upto Daintree Village, where we took a boat up the Daintree River. This was a great activity as we had an entertaining guide and managed to spot two crocs on the banks. Other days we just simply enjoyed the atmosphere of Port Douglas, loved Four Mile Beach, the market and restaurants.
Your service in finding us an apartment at such short notice was fantastic. I had no luck myself so was delighted that you not only found us accommodation but a choice of resorts. Mowbray by the Sea was perfect, the apartment was ideal and had a great layout, the managers there were very helpful and friendly, and the location was spot on. I couldn't fault anything there and would not hesitate in staying there when we are next in Port Douglas.
Thanks again for your assistance in finding us such a great place.
Kind Regards, Sandra
My husband and I had a lovely holiday in ‘paradise’. While friends and family in Brisbane shivered, we enjoyed the balmy weather of Palm Cove where we had the most wonderful time dining at various restaurants, sipping cocktails, walking along the beach and taking in the fantastic view from our ‘Island Views’ apartment.
The apartment was all we could have wished for – modern, spacious and well equipped; in fact, we wanted for nothing. Basically, we were loathe to leave it as the main purpose of our holiday was to have some much needed R&R; however, we did venture to Kuranda – an easy drive from Palm Cove, and Thala Lodge for lunch where we enjoyed another fabulous view from the restaurant .
Apart from this, we simply enjoyed all that Palm Cove had to offer.
Thank you to you and the staff at FNQ Apartments for the first class service provided. We were delighted with and impressed by your prompt and detailed responses to our emails and requests. It appeared that nothing was too much trouble. A lovely touch was the ‘ welcome to Cairns’ text message not long after our arrival with the offer of further assistance with tour bookings etc should we have required it.
We definitely intend returning to the far north and will avail ourselves of your services when we do so. Thank you again,
Sara – your agency provides wonderfully efficient service to clients.
We had a very enjoyable time. We have been coming to FNQ for 20 years every June so we no longer do the tourist activities as we have two teenagers who have been there done that.
As for the accommodation we were very happy as to the size and standard of the apartment. Having stayed in several different places in Palm Cove and Port Douglas, ranging from the Sheraton villas to the old Eden on the Coral Coast in the early 90s we felt the Island View Apartments were the most spacious and best laid out.
If space wasn't an issue a gym or tennis court would be an added bonus. The staff at your front office were very friendly and helpful.
Thank you, yes it was lovely visiting a part of Aust. we had never been to before. Getaway on Grafton was very good – new managers very helpful – accom. tidy and clean.
Your help and assistance, excellent and your web site, very good.
Thanks again Sonia
Firstly, I must thank you personally for your help and support. You have been always been very informative when I have called, and also your kindness and friendly manner has been a great inspiration.
The accommodation at Mantra Heritage was very beautiful, and it was just the perfect location, as we wanted to stay in a Central location with the Resort atmosphere. The swim-out deck was a very good idea and my teenage daughters just loved it........
The short walk to the Restaurants and Cafes also offered us a great variety of food and dining, and delivered with their great service and hospitality - beautiful - relaxed and classy....
The Billy Tea Safaris Tour you recommended was very good, and I have mentioned this tour to many of my friends in Melbourne. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about his job, and this just made us appreciate and enjoy our beautiful Daintree Forest...........
The Quicksilver tour to the Barrier Reef was also very good. The staff were so helpful, friendly, and well trained, that it made us first-timers to the Reef feel very relaxed and have a most enjoyable day.
Thank You so much for recommending the accommodation and these two tours - the best!!!!
Will definitely come back to Port Douglas - the best place in Australia in my opinion.
The holiday was fabulous.
Port Douglas was so exciting. We did everything: river snorkelling, Snorkelling on the great barrier reef (Low Isles), scuba diving with poisedon, tour of Cape Tribulation, Bungy jumping, white water rafting, off shore fishing, flying fox through Daintree, Habitat, feeding of the groper fish at the inlet, cane toad races at the pub. Everything was really good and professional. Transport was easy to access and everyone was willing to help.
I only had a problem with our transfer company. Despite our phone call during the week, even when they picked Amanda up tey still had our name on the board to pick up as well as hers.
Then when we were leaving and coming home I overheard that they had incorrectly booked another person travelling alone, they had him down for 2 (hope he wasnt charged 2).
Your help with finding the perfect apartments was unbeatable. It meet all our requirements!
My wife Stephanie and I had a wonderful time in Port Douglas. There are numerous activities and tours that you can participate in and I guess personal interests and budget determines what you decide to do.
We went on 3 tours while we were there:- Lady Douglas river cruise, Billy Tea safaris Cape Tribulation, Daintree Rainforest & Bloomfield Track and Sailaway Sunset Sailing. We thoroughly enjoyed all 3 and they were all different and diverse in what you saw and did. We were impressed with the young guides knowledge on the Billy Tea tour, but my wife's favourite was the sunset sailing as we were very lucky to pick a afternoon when the weather was perfect and we had an absolute amazing sunset with the sun shining through some clouds really creating a beautiful sunset as you sailed out towards the Low Isles.
I could not fault the service I have received from you, you have been extremely prompt with any response to enquiries and have followed this up to make sure everything is OK.
We did have a little problem with the apartment in Port Douglas, but Rebecca from Boutique Collection was extremely helpful in trying to rectify the problems. I have a survey from them and will be making my comments about the apartment problems on this form.
Certainly if any of my self funded retiree friends intend taking a holiday in North Qld I would have no hesitation in recommending your organisation to them as all of them take holidays at least once a year in all parts of the world.
We loved our accommodation at Peppers Beach Resort in Palm Cove. The apartment was spacious and modern and had everything we needed. We spent most of that week just lazing around the sensational pool the resort has to offer.
The kids loved “beach pool” and having the extra heated pool was a bonus on the very few cloudy days we had. This is the second time we have used FNQ Apartments and I would not hesitate to use you again when we holiday up that way next year.
Thank you for all your help Sara, greatly appreciated.
We had a great time in Cairns and absolutely loved Floriana Villas and would definately stay there again.
We did many day trips - Ocean Spirit to Micamymus Cay, 4WD trip to Daintree and Cape Tribulation. Night Zoo dinner, day trip to Fitzroy Island and more.
we would recommend Cairns and these activites to any of our family or friends.
We loved our penthouse apartment at Sea Temple, Palm Cove.
We loved it so much we are planning on coming back for our first year wedding anniversary next year! Sea Temple is a great resort for couples, very quiet, spacious, gorgeous pool & gardens. Often we felt like we were the only people there. The penthouse apartment was amazing. We loved our roof top spa, BBQ area and hearing the waves crashing while enjoying a glass of bubbly. Palm Cove is stunning, such a great spot for our honeymoon. This was our first trip to FNQ but it certainly will not be our last, a beautiful place and great people!
At first I was a little worried about not booking directly via the Resort, however FNQ Apartments were great and I had nothing to worry about! Very professional service and a VERY competitive rate. My email questions were always answered very quickly which as a self-confessed control freak this made me very happy! The check in process at Boutique Collections was quick and easy. I would have no hesitation in recommending FNQ apartments to my friends and family.
We had a great time, so good that we wished we had extended our stay a little longer but due to work commitments that was not possible. We had a very relaxing stay at Amphora, the check in process with Boutique Collection was excellent. The facilities in the room were quite good, we were very happy to be placed in a room on the top floor.
We have stayed at other accommodation on lower levels and been disappointed with the noise aspect. If only there were silent door closers on every apartment door at holiday resorts, people don’t seem to care how much noise they make when coming and going.
We would like to commend you on your attention to detail. We normally use an alternative website to make our booking arrangements for accommodation in Cairns but it was a refreshing change to deal with FNQ Apartments. I like the fact that you are helpful without being “pushy”
I also liked the fact that you took the time to send another email prior to our visit recommending attractions in the area and a chance to pre-book with discounts offered. As we have been to most of the attractions previously we didn’t take advantage of the kind offer this time but would certainly welcome similar offers for future visits.
We are planning to take another holiday later in the year and would certainly consider returning to Palm Cove possibly with my parents this time as they have never been to Cairns. Every time we go we rave to them about how good it is for a holiday.
We usually stay at Trinity Beach but have found that there are more restaurant choices in Palm Cove which are all in walking distance, Choc Dee Thai restaurant food is to die for. So good in fact that we had dinner there twice during our stay. And the recommendation came from our Boutique Collection host who checked us into our room at Amphora.
Thanks again Megan.
I'm freezing my butt off in Canberra with minus4degrees at nights and a high of 10degrees during the day!!!
Cairns is beautiful!!!! Blue Lagoon was ideally located and perfect for our small family. Quiet atmosphere and clean and tidy with all facilities in great condition. All Blue Lagoon staff were curteous and helpful.....particularly Alex.
Blue Moon Grill Restaurant is highly recommended by us with awesome staff and phenomenal food!
Down Under Dive - Osprey V tour was fantastic. Crew were magnificent!!! Helpful and fun....food was great and entertainment was out of this world. My son was the only child on the tour that day but they catered to his every whim! Definately recommend this tour for fantastic Reef locations....tour may not be ideal for families with young children.
Tropical Horizon - Kuranda tour was magnificent. Scenic train and skyrail ride were stunning. However train ride was delayed for 1/2hr for departure and a little long - 2hr scenery ride was not really my thing. Quaint little forest town with many original/handmade souveniers not seen elsewhere.
Bill T Safari - Cape Tribulation/Daintree tour was awesome (except for being bitten alive by mozzies!) Worth the trip. Our guide - Andrew - amazed us with his knowledge and love of nature.
I would like to say a huge thankyou to Sara from FNQ Apartments for co-ordinating our holiday. Blue Lagoon was recommended by you and we were extremely happy with the result. All tours were chosen by myself but there were no hiccups in the process of securing these tours with Sara's help and fantastic specials were even obtained for us! All our questions were answered promptly and precisely.
please feel free to use my comments on your website.
I woud love to visit FNQ again in the near future and would definately be contacting FNQ Apartments for their exceptional service!
We had a fantastic stay at the Sea Temple. The room was very well appointed and we were surprised to see there were a few crockery/cooking facilities in the room - this was great for us as eating out all the time gets a bit much.
The pool lagoon is beautiful and definitely the key feature of the hotel. Port Douglas itself is stunning and a destination we plan to return to again - especially in winter.

We’ve just returned home, AMAZING HOLIDAY!!
My family stayed at the Mantra Portsea in Port Douglas June 2010
We had a fantastic holiday, the perfect combination of relaxation and adventure.
The Mantra Portsea was great. The location was perfect for us, a 15 minute walk along the beach to downtown, the room was clean and quiet (we asked for a back room) and the pool lovely.
There was loads of exploring and great stuff to do from Port Douglas, we found all of the operators friendly and professional, highlight of our visit was a day out on Aristocat diving at the outer reef.
We booked through Sara at FNQ from their website. This was made really easy by prompt and helpful response to all of our queries, I would definitely recommend using FNQ.
