Hi Megan, Thanks for your email. We had a lovely relaxing time, warm and very comfortable. (Its freezing down here so we havent adjusted too well!) Getting onto your questions ..... a) Palm Cove is certainly one of those hidden treasures. The atmosphere was friendly, warm and welcoming. Thoroughly enjoyed our 6 days, if not out and about relaxing at the pool was an ideal way to pass the time.We visited the reef on a half day excursion, probably could have stayed longer but did what we wanted to do whilst we were out there (snorkeling and glass bottom boat). Also did the skyrail. It was a fantastic experience. Wandering around the villiage (Kuranda) was a worthwile experience although it has certainly become more tourist focused than what I remember 10 years ago! We did the boat cruise while up the mountain which was probably one of the highlights as we saw turtles and baby crocodiles just doing their own thing! We hired a car for our visit which certainly made it easier to get to the supermarket! By having the car we got to Port Douglas and further north and back to Cairns for a little bit of shopping! It also made it a bit easier for my husband to get to the golf courses. Megan I was a tad disappointed with our accommodation. The apartment itself was lovely but it was so dark and we struggled to see the ocean views (that we paid for!) Sitting at the table outdoors we could not see anything, the beautiful tropical plants are quite tall and block out any view that their might be. I think it is a bit rich advertising this apartment with ocean views as there are none, unless you stand on top of the chairs. We were not able to enjoy a glass of wine (or anything for that matter) while watching the ocean. We loved the resort, just disappointed that we didnt get the views that we paid extra for! b) The service provided by FNQ Apartments is up there with the best. The friendliness shown over the email was outstanding, it kind of made us feel special in knowing that someone cared about our children and that they would really enjoy the pool at the resort we stayed in. (and you were right!) I guess I am saying that the advice given was exact! Thankyou. I was taken aback by the effort taken to answer all my questions and in particular emailing me a breakfast menu from one of the restaurants. Thankyou again. The voucher system worked really well and I would have no hesitations in recommending your service to anyone venturing up that way. I do hope this info will help with future planning, I am not sure there is anything you can use on your website but feel free to do so. Thanks again for all your help in planning our winter break. Cheers for now Di

Hi Megan,Thank you for your follow up email. We thoroughly enjoyed our recent holiday to Cairns. It was made all the more memorable by the excellent accommodation youarranged for us at the Jack and Newell Apartments. The apartment was perfect with terrific harbour views in a very well locatedcentral area of Cairns.I would highly recommend that anyone seeking holiday accommodation in Cairnsplace the Jack and Newell Apartments in there considerations, as we knowfrom experience that they would be more than happy with these apartments. This gave us a great start to our holiday in which we visited Green Islandwith Adventure Cruises, the Habitat Cruise to the Crocodile Farm, a day outby Skyrail to Kuranda and a Cape Tribulation/Daintree Rainforest tour withDown Under Tours. Each of these were most enjoyable as they were veryprofessionally carried out by the operators and tour guides. They resulted in us taking away fond memories of our holiday in Cairns. Please accept our sincere thanks for the great help you gave us.Your reccommendations regarding accommodation was much appreciated by us, itproved to be exactly to our needs, showing your excellent understanding ofwhat we required.Best Wishes to yourself and TroyDavid

Sorry for delay in replying still trying to catch up on my work from having a week off! This was my first visit to Cairns and I really enjoyed the lifestyle and holiday atmosphere. As I was there on business (my daughters basketball) sightseeing was restricted this was very disappointing I certainly hope to return one day. I did manage to get to the Reef and also managed to get sea-sick but this did not stop me from snorkelling and doing a reef walk which was great fun. Would thoroughly recommend it! We ended up driving up to Kuranda due to time restraints and included a visit to Crystal Cascades for a swim. We all enjoyed Regency Palms Apartments nice and quiet, staff very helpful and friendly and because we were there for basketball location was not an issue. If I returned I would probably like to be a little closer to The Esplanade but on this occasion it all worked out great. It only took us 5 minutes to get to the Basketball Stadium! We ended up at The Esplanade almost every night just enjoying the atmosphere, but found the restaurant prices very expensive. Still looking for a reasonably priced, healthy meal option! More than happy with the service provided by FNQ and would have not hesitation in using your company in the future. Hopefully next time it will be for a more relaxing holiday with time to enjoy all the sights Cairns has to offer. Regards Margaret

Hi Sara, Winsome and myself were very happy with everything, it was fantastic. We appreciated the tour we received when arriving and the rundown on the facilities. We didn't really participate in any tours or planned activities, as we had a wedding to attend on Saturday, and we much prefer to poke around and discover things ourselves. In regard to the standard of satisfaction with your services, we were extremely satisfied. Friendly service and a great price, can't ask for more than that! The only things I could recommend is explaining if Internet is available in the room, or if we can pay the Sea Temple for Internet access to our room. Or possibly explaining where in Palm Cove there is Internet access. I know you go on holidays to escape all that, but especially for people our age, it's almost a necessity just for communication. The only other thing that would have been nice is a bit of an insiders or locals guide to the restaurants of the area (I did look through the package we were given when we arrived...though I didn't see anything like this. Please correct me if there was already something like this in there). Maybe broken up by meal, eg. a few places listed for Breakfast, with some of the dishes available with a few ideas of prices to expect at each, etc. Because so many of the restaurants are quite expensive, it's nice to find a few little places that have a cheap breakfast, or a quick and easy pizza or something for lunch. I have already recommended the website to so many friends and co-workers and a few people at work are driving up to Palm Cove soon. Expect plenty of referrals from us.Thanks again.- Tom

Hello Troy I reply on behalf of my parents whom we sent off for a holiday to Cairns. They very much enjoyed Cairns and the apartment. Their only criticism was the hardness of the bed and the lounge suite which had damage to the springs/structure of it. They commented on the high quality of service received from staff.Yours trulyClinton

Hello FNQ yes all went very well.I wish to thank you for all of your assistance with our bookings. Having lived in the area some time ago and being in Port Douglas mainly for a wedding, holiday activities were not high on the list.Travelling from Melbourne in winter we were more than happy to relax on one of the many fantastic beaches. We were very happy with the standard of our accommodation, and the service that we received at the places we visited.I did go to the outer reef on one day and I must say that I was a little disappointed, since the cyclone the condition of the reef has suffered some what and I feel that this should have possibly been stressed prior to the company taking our booking as it is not an inexpensive day. There were a few small things with the accommodation such as no bath in the bathroom, with a 2 year old this was a small problem. The kitchen equipment could have also been a little more extensive. And the people staying in the unit above who were playing basket ball at 10pm at night on their timber floor could have been a little more considerate. Over all we were very happy. Thank you for you assistance.Regards.Damian

Hi Sara,Just arrived home midnight last night. Had a fabulous time. Weather fantastic. The apartment was great and amphora setting beautiful however I think it is very much for families more than couples. There were many children which we dont mind but next time we would choose somewhere a bit more focused on couples. Babies and kids crying early can be a bit annoying.I just thought this info would be helpful for future clients. All in all it was terrific and we certainly will be back again. We loved the look of Peppers but I thinkthat might be well above our budget unless you have special deals there too. We went to Port Douglas a couple of times which was great. Didnt go out to the reef it was pretty windy but we were looking for a restful holiday this time. Your service has been perfect and will always use you and recommend you to friends. Thank you so much for the voucher.Kind regardsHeather

Hi SaraThanks for your e-mail my comments are below, and thank you for the $50 voucher. We had an excellent holiday. Weather was great and have come back to 14 degree highs so the Winter coat has come out againa) your impressions of your holiday and the activities that you participated in.We had 10 days in Cairns and surrounding area. The accommodation in Cairns (Southern Cross Atrium Apartments) was excellent and of a very high standard. Always saw someone working about painting or cleaning which seemed to reflect the quality of the accommodation. In general, the staff were helpful and very happy to answer our questions. The apartments were very central and made getting around Cairns on foot very easy. Our second stop was Palm Cove. Accommodation, I thought was just average (mainly kitchen cupboards just smelt unclean or something like that). We understand that the apartment is due for renovation but we did have a view of the beach and Helen and Leo were most helpful. We thought the SkyRail was very impressive and asset to the area.b) the standards and your satisfaction with our servicesI found you guys very helpful and would recommend you to any friends travelling to the Cairns area. The follow up e-mails are an excellent idea and the opportunity to provide feedback. Your service is very prompt and suggestions are very helpful.Once again, thanks for your help and will no doubt hope to visit sometime soon.ThanksSharon

HI Troy, Thanks for the line. Yes everything went very well. The accommodation was well and truly up to scratch and the building supervisor very helpful. Its location and proximity to everything was terrific. They only thing I would suggest would be the provision of an electric frypan and more micro wave cooking utensils. We did the usual tourist trips including the Daintree and Kuranda Railway, including quite a forays into shopping and eating out. All in all Cairns was great! Regards Chas

Hi Sara. Our first impressions of the Sea Temple Resort was absolutely breathtaking! As we existed the taxi, we were immediately greeted by Rebecca, who then proceeded to give us a guided tour of the complex, and finally our superb apartment.Unfortunately, our business commitments in FNQ meant that our check-in was delayed for a day, but without mention, Rebecca had expressed to us that she would find out if she could extend our stay for a day. True to her word, she had called us that very afternoon to let us know that we could stay on for an extra day! Needless to say, my fiance and I were absolutely thrilled! As we were only there for a couple of days, we spent most of our time swimming & soaking up the sun around the lagoon pool. We spent the mornings & evenings strolling along the beach. Even though we were only there for a few days, we both felt extremely relaxed by the time we had to leave. We both agreed that the standards and services of FNQ Apartments was absolutely fantastic. So much so, that we are already planning our next FNQ holiday, and will definitely be utilising the professional services of FNQ Apartments. We would also like to extend a special thanks to Rebecca, who made our stay at the Sea Temple Resort an absolute pleasure. Thanks for a great holiday.See you again.......soonJKind RegardsStan & AnitaPS: Please feel free to use our comments on your site.By the way, thanks very much for the Discount Voucher. Will be needing it soon!

Hi Megan,Cairns was fantastic and we enjoyed our trip. Our accommodation at the Southern Cross was fantastic and we enjoyed being so close to the shops which made it easy to organise dinner etc..We did the following in Cairns:Ocean Spirit Cruise4wd trip to Cape Trib etcDay trip to Port DouglasTrip to Kuranda for Skyrail and choo choo trainWe organised these through other info places at the last minute because we were unsure of which ones we wanted to do and just stumbled across them. I am guess I am saying that it would have been useful to have your physical address if you have one as we would have popped by and used you. Someone from your office might have called my mobile because I had a missed call from the Cairns region but I was on the reef at the time.We are planning to go to Broome for our next trip but I think we will return to the Cairns region and stay at Port Douglas or Palm Cove for a week within the next year or 2 and would use your service again.ThanksAdam - Sydney

Just a few words in answer to you inquiry Although we came to Cairns only to attend my Sons Wedding we enjoyed our stay in Cairns very much.I liked the Gardens and Landscaping with its Tropical Plants and the friendliness of the Locals. We did two Sightseeing Tours - Green Island and a Train Trip to Kuranda. But the most impressive part of our stay was the Apartment at Southern Cross.Well done.Excellent if we ever go to Cairns again and I hope so then we would book the same Apartments again for sure. Now this is all I have to say for the moment. Hi Megan Further to your recent e-mail please accept my apologies for the delay in responding. With regard to our holiday we had a fantastic time whilst we were in AUSTRALIA and in particular during our stay in Cairns. Our accommodation was ideal for our needs, basically a clean, tidy and adequately furnished apartment within easy reach of the centre of Cairns. The on site managers were very good to us they were helpful and informative giving us valuable advice on things like which trips to go and where to go to for the best deal on car hire. Although this accommodation might not suit the most discerning type of holiday makers (there were number of very nice but expensive hotels if that is what someone would prefer) it was certainly good value for money, was ideal for our needsand I would certainly recommend it to visitors an limited budget and especially families with children. The outdoor pool was super our children went in everyday to cool down. We went on a full day Barrier Reef trip to Moore Cay where we snorkled, and took a trip on both a glass bottomed boat and a semi-submersible boat. Other trips we went on whilst in Cairns were to Kuranda village (via the Scenic Railway from Fresh Water returning on The Sky Rail), Port Douglas, Mossman Gorge, The Table Lands and Marreeba over the other side of the mountains at the back of Cairns. All of these were great and we would recommend them to any one thinking of visiting Cairns for a holiday. Yours Alan

Hi Troy, Just a quick response to your email. Myself and Nicki had a great time whilst we were in Australia, our impressions were as follows: 1) Palm Cove was lovely, fantastic beach and surroundings and the local restaurants and facilities were just what we required. There was quite a bit of building work going on just down from our apartment complex, but it did not disturb us too much.2) The apartment was lovely, more than we were expecting - so no complaints there!3) We booked trips to the Barrier Reef (Quick Silver), Daintree (Mossman Gorge, Daintree river cruise, Rainforest Habitat, Port Douglas etc) and the Sky Rail to Kuranda - all booked through the local tourist information office in Palm Cove - all thoroughly enjoyed.4) The apartment we stayed in was not our first choice (this was not available) the Amphora Apartments was recommended by FNQ Tourist Information, the description was accurate and the discount that was provided to us made it affordable and a great place to stay. Overall, Queensland and Palm Cove were great and the service provided by FNQ Tourist Information was very good. Hope this helps! RegardsAmanda

Hi TroyI have a few minutes to reply So just quicklyThe holiday was great and I cant thank you enough for all your assistance. The SkyRail was awesome and for families the fact that one child goes free is great when you book direct through Skyrail . It ends up being about $40 cheaper. The Reef Magic trip was great and I cant say enough about the staff on the boat and at the pontoon, they were great and because there were not a great deal of passengers it was even better. The kids loved the snorkelling. When we went to Green Island we went through Great Adventures (I know you dont deal with them, but maybe you should consider it , because they have options where we only paid I think it was $174 and we had lunch from the buffet included (but only one plateful, but that was enough)..which included either snorkelling or a glass bottom boat tour. It ended up being one of our cheapest days out.Our last day there ended up costing us nearly $2000 because we missed our flight and had to pay full fares for another flight, and my hubby got a speeding fine on the way to the airport!..But thats another story.Great holidayGreat destinationGreat apartments! (Yes I forgot to mention that Southern Cross Atrium Apartments are beautiful, the kids loved the 3 pools and we had a few BBQs next to one of the pools while we were there. The kids loved the fact that they had their own bathroom, lounge, bedroom and kitchen, and the apartment was cleaned while we were there on about the 5th day!. Great location too for the apartments they are close enough to walk to the city centre and right next to a Shopping CentreWe will definitely be back next year! Thanks again Troy for all your help!Name withheld... :o)

Thankyou once again Kind regards Anne

Hi TroyThank you.The holiday was great. My partner Patrick and I just loved North Queensland. The Aqueous on Port was a lovely modern apartment building with a beautiful lagoon pool. And the caretaker, Lisa was a very friendly host. If I had to make one criticism to make, it would be that the room was only cleaned after I complained, even though it was supposed to be cleaned every 3 days.Anyway, onto the holiday -We hired a car for 2 days and drove to Palm Cove and Cairns and the Atherton Tablelands. Palm Cove is like paradise and I would love to stay there in the future but, with one exception, that I had a car. I would feel very isolated without transport. I also enjoyed Cairns immensely but, again, with transport. We didn't really do our homework on the Atherton Tablelands as we had decided to take a short (or so we thought) detour on our way to Cairns. We therefore only walked through the town, being ignorant to what else it had to offer. We booked 3 tours, namely:The Reef Tour (Habba)The staff of Habba were very friendly. The only criticism I have is that they don't take the time to familiarise novice snorkellers with the equipment etc. I found it very daunting being in the middle of the ocean and not knowing how to breathe through the mask and get used to the flippers and wet suit. Consequently I felt very sick being in the water and had to spend the next half hour in the toilet throwing up and was 'out for the count' for the rest of the day. Nevertheless, it was an amazing experience and I will be better prepared next time.Sky Rail/Train to Kuranda. We were a little disappointed in this tour. It was raining on the day and the operators had stopped the sky rail until the weather improved. Even though we paid for the sky rail we were driven up to Kuranda by coach. We were reimbursed but only minutely compared to what we paid. I hasten to add, that even though Kuranda is a lovely village, the 5 hours free time we were given to spend there before getting the train back (which incidentally was beautiful), was too long.Daintree TourThis was another tour we were disappointed with. We paid for and booked the tour which was described as "travel in a spacious luxury 4 wheel drive(12/14 seater)" but were informed the night prior that as there weren't enough tourists, we would be travelling in a small 4 wheel drive which we found very uncomfortable in the rear seats. Again, it was raining so the trip down the Daintree river was spent standing in the middle of a tin boat (you couldn't sit on the side due to the rain) which was filling up with rain water. Having said all that, our tour guide was lovely and very informative. All things considered, we had a lovely time and will definitely go back to North Queensland. I would like to be a bit more pampered in a hotel on my next trip as opposed to a 'self contained' apartment. Also, we would definitely hire a car from the airport for the length of our stay. I found we could have done a lot of the tours ourselves which would have saved us a considerable amount of money. The Daintree and Kuranda were definitely overpriced for what was entailed.Troy, it sounds as though I was disappointed in the trip which I definitely wasn't. We would just approach it in a different way the next time. Also, we went at the wrong time, in the wet season where it rained 5 from 8 days.Nevertheless, we had a lovely time and were very upset on our last day.The 7 nights were definitely not long enough and the next time I will book for at least 10/14 nights. Thank you so much for everything. You did a great job and I look forward to booking a holiday with you again in the future.Regards.Name withheld
