HI Troy, Thanks for the line. Yes everything went very well. The accommodation was well and truly up to scratch and the building supervisor very helpful. Its location and proximity to everything was terrific. They only thing I would suggest would be the provision of an electric frypan and more micro wave cooking utensils. We did the usual tourist trips including the Daintree and Kuranda Railway, including quite a forays into shopping and eating out. All in all Cairns was great! Regards Chas
Hi Megan, Many thanks for your help with organising our honeymoon. The accommodation (Sea Temple) was exceptional and we had a great time snorkeling the reef on Poseidon and white water rafting with Raging Thunder.Everything we did we thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend. Even dinner at the Palm Cove tavern. Thanks again,Peter
Hi Sara. Our first impressions of the Sea Temple Resort was absolutely breathtaking! As we existed the taxi, we were immediately greeted by Rebecca, who then proceeded to give us a guided tour of the complex, and finally our superb apartment.Unfortunately, our business commitments in FNQ meant that our check-in was delayed for a day, but without mention, Rebecca had expressed to us that she would find out if she could extend our stay for a day. True to her word, she had called us that very afternoon to let us know that we could stay on for an extra day! Needless to say, my fiance and I were absolutely thrilled! As we were only there for a couple of days, we spent most of our time swimming & soaking up the sun around the lagoon pool. We spent the mornings & evenings strolling along the beach. Even though we were only there for a few days, we both felt extremely relaxed by the time we had to leave. We both agreed that the standards and services of FNQ Apartments was absolutely fantastic. So much so, that we are already planning our next FNQ holiday, and will definitely be utilising the professional services of FNQ Apartments. We would also like to extend a special thanks to Rebecca, who made our stay at the Sea Temple Resort an absolute pleasure. Thanks for a great holiday.See you again.......soonJKind RegardsStan & AnitaPS: Please feel free to use our comments on your site.By the way, thanks very much for the Discount Voucher. Will be needing it soon!
Hi Megan,Cairns was fantastic and we enjoyed our trip. Our accommodation at the Southern Cross was fantastic and we enjoyed being so close to the shops which made it easy to organise dinner etc..We did the following in Cairns:Ocean Spirit Cruise4wd trip to Cape Trib etcDay trip to Port DouglasTrip to Kuranda for Skyrail and choo choo trainWe organised these through other info places at the last minute because we were unsure of which ones we wanted to do and just stumbled across them. I am guess I am saying that it would have been useful to have your physical address if you have one as we would have popped by and used you. Someone from your office might have called my mobile because I had a missed call from the Cairns region but I was on the reef at the time.We are planning to go to Broome for our next trip but I think we will return to the Cairns region and stay at Port Douglas or Palm Cove for a week within the next year or 2 and would use your service again.ThanksAdam - Sydney
Just a few words in answer to you inquiry Although we came to Cairns only to attend my Sons Wedding we enjoyed our stay in Cairns very much.I liked the Gardens and Landscaping with its Tropical Plants and the friendliness of the Locals. We did two Sightseeing Tours - Green Island and a Train Trip to Kuranda. But the most impressive part of our stay was the Apartment at Southern Cross.Well done.Excellent if we ever go to Cairns again and I hope so then we would book the same Apartments again for sure. Now this is all I have to say for the moment. Regards Adolf
Hi Megan Further to your recent e-mail please accept my apologies for the delay in responding. With regard to our holiday we had a fantastic time whilst we were in AUSTRALIA and in particular during our stay in Cairns. Our accommodation was ideal for our needs, basically a clean, tidy and adequately furnished apartment within easy reach of the centre of Cairns. The on site managers were very good to us they were helpful and informative giving us valuable advice on things like which trips to go and where to go to for the best deal on car hire. Although this accommodation might not suit the most discerning type of holiday makers (there were number of very nice but expensive hotels if that is what someone would prefer) it was certainly good value for money, was ideal for our needsand I would certainly recommend it to visitors an limited budget and especially families with children. The outdoor pool was super our children went in everyday to cool down. We went on a full day Barrier Reef trip to Moore Cay where we snorkled, and took a trip on both a glass bottomed boat and a semi-submersible boat. Other trips we went on whilst in Cairns were to Kuranda village (via the Scenic Railway from Fresh Water returning on The Sky Rail), Port Douglas, Mossman Gorge, The Table Lands and Marreeba over the other side of the mountains at the back of Cairns. All of these were great and we would recommend them to any one thinking of visiting Cairns for a holiday. Yours Alan
Hi Troy, Just a quick response to your email. Myself and Nicki had a great time whilst we were in Australia, our impressions were as follows: 1) Palm Cove was lovely, fantastic beach and surroundings and the local restaurants and facilities were just what we required. There was quite a bit of building work going on just down from our apartment complex, but it did not disturb us too much.2) The apartment was lovely, more than we were expecting - so no complaints there!3) We booked trips to the Barrier Reef (Quick Silver), Daintree (Mossman Gorge, Daintree river cruise, Rainforest Habitat, Port Douglas etc) and the Sky Rail to Kuranda - all booked through the local tourist information office in Palm Cove - all thoroughly enjoyed.4) The apartment we stayed in was not our first choice (this was not available) the Amphora Apartments was recommended by FNQ Tourist Information, the description was accurate and the discount that was provided to us made it affordable and a great place to stay. Overall, Queensland and Palm Cove were great and the service provided by FNQ Tourist Information was very good. Hope this helps! RegardsAmanda
Hi TroyI have a few minutes to reply So just quicklyThe holiday was great and I cant thank you enough for all your assistance. The SkyRail was awesome and for families the fact that one child goes free is great when you book direct through Skyrail . It ends up being about $40 cheaper. The Reef Magic trip was great and I cant say enough about the staff on the boat and at the pontoon, they were great and because there were not a great deal of passengers it was even better. The kids loved the snorkelling. When we went to Green Island we went through Great Adventures (I know you dont deal with them, but maybe you should consider it , because they have options where we only paid I think it was $174 and we had lunch from the buffet included (but only one plateful, but that was enough)..which included either snorkelling or a glass bottom boat tour. It ended up being one of our cheapest days out.Our last day there ended up costing us nearly $2000 because we missed our flight and had to pay full fares for another flight, and my hubby got a speeding fine on the way to the airport!..But thats another story.Great holidayGreat destinationGreat apartments! (Yes I forgot to mention that Southern Cross Atrium Apartments are beautiful, the kids loved the 3 pools and we had a few BBQs next to one of the pools while we were there. The kids loved the fact that they had their own bathroom, lounge, bedroom and kitchen, and the apartment was cleaned while we were there on about the 5th day!. Great location too for the apartments they are close enough to walk to the city centre and right next to a Shopping CentreWe will definitely be back next year! Thanks again Troy for all your help!Name withheld... :o)
Hi Tamara,In answer to your email regarding our recent holiday I am happy to reply, everything was perfect, the accommodation, the way you guys handled our needs from the start, your prompt response to our queries was a credit to you, And yes I would highly recommend the Southern Cross Atrium to anyone and would not hesitate to stay there again next time we are in Cairns. Thankyou once again Kind regards Anne
Hi TroyThank you.The holiday was great. My partner Patrick and I just loved North Queensland. The Aqueous on Port was a lovely modern apartment building with a beautiful lagoon pool. And the caretaker, Lisa was a very friendly host. If I had to make one criticism to make, it would be that the room was only cleaned after I complained, even though it was supposed to be cleaned every 3 days.Anyway, onto the holiday -We hired a car for 2 days and drove to Palm Cove and Cairns and the Atherton Tablelands. Palm Cove is like paradise and I would love to stay there in the future but, with one exception, that I had a car. I would feel very isolated without transport. I also enjoyed Cairns immensely but, again, with transport. We didn't really do our homework on the Atherton Tablelands as we had decided to take a short (or so we thought) detour on our way to Cairns. We therefore only walked through the town, being ignorant to what else it had to offer. We booked 3 tours, namely:The Reef Tour (Habba)The staff of Habba were very friendly. The only criticism I have is that they don't take the time to familiarise novice snorkellers with the equipment etc. I found it very daunting being in the middle of the ocean and not knowing how to breathe through the mask and get used to the flippers and wet suit. Consequently I felt very sick being in the water and had to spend the next half hour in the toilet throwing up and was 'out for the count' for the rest of the day. Nevertheless, it was an amazing experience and I will be better prepared next time.Sky Rail/Train to Kuranda. We were a little disappointed in this tour. It was raining on the day and the operators had stopped the sky rail until the weather improved. Even though we paid for the sky rail we were driven up to Kuranda by coach. We were reimbursed but only minutely compared to what we paid. I hasten to add, that even though Kuranda is a lovely village, the 5 hours free time we were given to spend there before getting the train back (which incidentally was beautiful), was too long.Daintree TourThis was another tour we were disappointed with. We paid for and booked the tour which was described as "travel in a spacious luxury 4 wheel drive(12/14 seater)" but were informed the night prior that as there weren't enough tourists, we would be travelling in a small 4 wheel drive which we found very uncomfortable in the rear seats. Again, it was raining so the trip down the Daintree river was spent standing in the middle of a tin boat (you couldn't sit on the side due to the rain) which was filling up with rain water. Having said all that, our tour guide was lovely and very informative. All things considered, we had a lovely time and will definitely go back to North Queensland. I would like to be a bit more pampered in a hotel on my next trip as opposed to a 'self contained' apartment. Also, we would definitely hire a car from the airport for the length of our stay. I found we could have done a lot of the tours ourselves which would have saved us a considerable amount of money. The Daintree and Kuranda were definitely overpriced for what was entailed.Troy, it sounds as though I was disappointed in the trip which I definitely wasn't. We would just approach it in a different way the next time. Also, we went at the wrong time, in the wet season where it rained 5 from 8 days.Nevertheless, we had a lovely time and were very upset on our last day.The 7 nights were definitely not long enough and the next time I will book for at least 10/14 nights. Thank you so much for everything. You did a great job and I look forward to booking a holiday with you again in the future.Regards.Name withheld
Good Evening Troy. Our stay in Cairns was very good. The apartment was excellent but could be improved in one small way. I think they need a small table and two chairs inside the apartment. The outside table was OK but nobody eats all meals and spends that much time outside, especially when it is that hot. The service from yourself and FNQ Tourist Information was above expectation. Even when we changed the date of our reef trip all was handled very well and we were expected on the later day. It was a shame that I suffered from sea sickness on the trip but the reef and the Low Isles were still enjoyable. Maybe next time I will give the Wave Dancer a miss and stick to the larger vessels.By far the best attraction was the Skyrail and train outing. They were good but the best part of the day was the lunch at the Rainforestation centre. The variety was excellent and all types and nationalities were adequately catered for. Yes I would recommend the day especially the lunch. On the other days we toured up to the Daintree and down as far as Mission Beach and out to Atherton and the tablelands. You definitely need to hire a car to visit all the surrounding countryside. Thanks very much for your friendly assistance and the service was far above expectation. Robert
Dear Troy,Just to let you know that Pauline and I had a fantastic time in Port Douglas. The Portsea was a great place to stay and the weather was perfect. Thank you for all your help in getting us there. I will contact you next time we are coming your way. Thanks again.Regards,Barry
Hi Megan, Just replying to your email i recieved. We really enjoyed our holiday. the activities that we participated in were: the skyrail up to kuranda, which was very peaceful and returned on the train to cairns, as we saw beautiful scenery. we hired a car and went for a drive to port douglass it was very picturess. we also went snorkling and scubadiving out at the great barrier reef,as it was amazing to see all the different corals and fish. for the rest of our holiday we just relaxed and went sighseeing round cairns and what it has to offer. The apartments that we stayed at were just amazing, it just made our holiday perfect. the service you provided was great you answered all my questions perfect and were willing to help with any other information i needed. the service was very prompt and if i ever visit up that way again, you will be the first person i ring for all my bookings. we really appreciated the deals you gave us and everything you helped us with. thanking you.Regards Benita
Hi Troy,Yep, back to rainy cold Adelaide ;-)No problem, here's a couple of sentences for you on what you were asking:a) Hol was very good. You even put on the weather for us. Location was good for young family, though without a hire care week might have been long enough. But with hire car, week wasn't long enough :-) Lots to do. We did Green Island 1/2 day trip, local beach trips, Karunda, SkyRail and Train ride back down. Shopping centre trips (as ever!), Inland waterway trips + kayaking + other stuff. All went well and very enjoyable. Some specifics if you want. Hire car (from Hertz via RAA in the end) was good, accom at Amaroo was nice + residential staff good, friendly and very helpful. Slight disappointment, and only a slight one was the pool, not very kid friendly.b) You were Very helpful in booking the accommodation, managing to secure a great rate for our week. Thanks for that! You also made sure all logistics eg checkin and finding the place were straightforward and simple. Also, you were most helpful in advising over the area where we were going and what to do, knowledgeable, well communicated and most helpful. Hire car details also obtained for us, and whilst not the cheapest we ended up finding, you did provide them, and quickly and accurately too. Would have no hesitation in using FNQ again, and indeed I would say that Troy from our experience is a great asset to the service provided. Thanks for all your help, appreciated.Cheers,Carl (and family).
To Megan Just to let you know that my family had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay in the Blue Lagoon Resort. We had everything that could be needed and more, the beach and shops were only a stroll away. The pool was great, the B.B.Q. was used more than once. I would recommend these apartments to anyone and would most certainly stay there myself again if I am to visit Cairns again. Thanking you, Carmela
Hi! We are home now -- lots more holidaying after we left Cairns. We had a great time in Cairns, and were very satisfied with our accommodations. I especially liked the giant shower! All four of us enjoyed our various activities -- taking a trip to the Great Barrier Reef with Quicksilver (topnotch organization), riding the sky rail and train to/from Kuranda, driving up to Daintree and cruising the Daintree River, shopping, especially the Night Market, and eating gelatos every night. to name a few. A relative and friends are planning to go to New Zealand next year, and our very firm advice to them is to not miss two places in Australia: Sydney and Cairns. We are also recommending your accommodations: they are far enough from the action (the Esplanade) for quiet and safety, yet close enough to easily walk, even several times a day. The reasonably priced wireless internet is a major bonus, and sets you apart from the rest of the places we stayed on our month-long stay in Australia. And being next door to the Mall and its two grocery stores was a big plus!Though we didn't take advantage of your offers when we booked, we appreciated the information, and it made decision making much easier when we got to Cairns. Thanks again!Allen & Carol
Hi Troy! Thank you so much for the fantastic arrrangements at Hibiscus Gardens. They upgraded up to a 2-bedroom apt. as there was a problem with the studio (mold or something...) which worked out great! I loved the ambience of the resort as it wasn't 'touristy' or 'sterile' & being able to walk every where was a real bonus. We went on a day tour to the Daintree/Cape Tribulation/river cruise/Mossman Gorge which was really nice & covered more ground than we could've on our own. We also had 'Breakfast with the Birds' & spent time walking around the Habitat. I don't think I'd have the breakfast again, but the facility is great for photos & 'up close' with the animals - very laid back. We also went to the Sunday market in Anzac Park - we definitely boosted the local economy that day...my Christmas shopping is done! Most of all, I just loved walking on 4-mile beach every morning listening to all the exotic birds, strolling around town & enjoying the many incredible restaurants (At the Inlet, 2 Fish, & our favorite..Michael Angelo's (formerly Sassy's?). We got very spoiled with the variety of fresh seafood every day - I miss it! I would say I was very pleased with your service & only wish that I was in need of them sooner than later. Hmmmm.....Madame Butterfly is playing at the Sydney Opera House in Jan.......do I dare? Thanks for your genuine concerns & follow up! Fondly, Carol
Hi,Thanks for your follow up and thanks for all your help while trying to organise our holiday last month. We had a great time (except for the wet and stormy weather) and would recommend The Lakes Resort to our friends. We felt we recieved excellent service from you and your accomodation recommendation was most helpful as it suited our budget and situation with three children, thankyou. It appeared we were upgraded as there was a delay while booking in and we were then given a 2 bed plus 2 bathroom unit. Also this unit was set up with 1 king and 1 queen bed. We needed to ask for the second bedroom beds to be split and requested a roll-out bed for our son. When we left it was handy to have a copy of your email as the Lakes attempted to charge us an extra $170.00 for the roll-out bed. In the end they honoured your original quote and apart from these minor problems it was a vary relaxing place to stay. As far as activities, we would have booked more water activities if the weather was good. We did get a chance to go to Low Isles and on the Skwway and while it rained, our teenagers enjoyed shopping especially Kurandah and Cairns night markets. We also enjoyed the waterfalls down in the tablelands Once again, thanks for all your help.Regards,Charlie and Joy
