The hotel (Southern Cross Atrium Apartments) was beautiful, I really enjoyed staying there. We went on the sky rail, actually we went up on the train and down on the sky rail, this was really excellent, and the history they gave you on the train ride was actually very interesting. As for the sky rail I did have reservations about going so high but I felt completely safe once inside. The view was absolutely incredible.FNQ Apartments, if it wasn't for your website I would have had difficulty planning such holiday but with your website is was quite simple as everything was on the site from accommodation to a range of activities. Hi Sara We had a fabulous time in Port Douglas with no complaints about our apartment. It was clean, spacious and had all the amenities we needed. Our children had great fun in the "noisy" pool. A minor point was that the water in the shower ran cool quite quickly. Maybe though this is a water saving device to discourage you from staying in the shower too long. The lady on reception gave us good advise about activities we wanted to do and which trips were most suited to families. All the excursions we took were greatly enjoyed. Our time in Port Douglas was over too quickly and we would liked to have stayed longer but our schedule did not allow this. Regards, Judith

We had a great holiday in Cairns...we spent plenty of time down at the esplanade because it is so perfect for kids, we visited the zoo and we also went for a visit to Port Douglas markets on the Sunday. The weather wasn't as warm as we thought it would be...but it was great that it rained very little and so we were still able to get out and about with the kids.We were really happy with the accommodation...(the only thing was that we were told there was a DVD and CD player yet when we arrived...there wasn't! Troy was great though and immediately got a DVD player for us (well actually our son!) We were impressed that the apartment was cleaned for us whilst we were there too. It was a great location near Muddy's Playground....very nice short walk!Alison and James

This was the first holiday of this type where we have not used a travel agent and frankly it was far less hassle overall. I would not hesitate to recommend you.As far as your services are concerned, spot on! Sun Palm were courteous and efficient where they were supposed to be when they said they would be. Cant get better than that! The accommodation we chose (despite my glitch) was excellent. Again all our details were known and correct on our arrival. All the staff were really pleasant and helpful. The rooms were clean, well equipped and had all the facilities we needed. The entire design and setting of the complex was delightful. We had a good stickybeak at a number of similar resorts and can only say that PD Retreat would have taken some beating! Fantastic value.We did not do many of the touristy things as we had done them on previous visits however, those we did partake in were again well organised and gave what they offered.Restaurants have multiplied and improved since last there.Only complaint if you are self catering is Coles poor range, poor quality, poor attitude. This company has no place in PD. On the other hand, IGA in the Rainforest complex was the exact opposite. Make sure you somehow tell your clients where they (IGA) is and how to get there via Sun Palm Shuttle if they do not have a vehicle.All together a most enjoyable break made much easier by your organisation.Cheers,Mike &Sandra

Hi Troy,Back to normality again, unfortunately.We had a wonderful time at the Sea Temple - the wedding was just beautiful and the weather behaved on the day, which was also Mother's day, and we had sunshine all day.Thank you for organising all the accommodation for me, everyone was more than satisfied with their rooms and our three bedroom apartment was just great. We were refunded for the roll-out bed also, thanks for following that up. Megan, I would much rather still be on holidays but.... We had a great holiday. The Oasis Resort suited us very well especially the pool and playground - both kept the kid's entertained. The apartment was large and in excellent condition and the location was very convenient. The onsite manager Sally was very helpful and informative and provided us with assistance in booking tours, babysitting and provided some local knowledge. Palm Cove was picturesque, quiet and provided us with everything that we needed. The surprise of the trip was the two days that we spent in Cairns. The lagoon was great - once again kept the kids very happy - and the playground on the Esplanade was the best kid's playground that I have ever seen. Getaways on Grafton was well located and a good standard of accommodation. We took the Skyrail to Kuranda one day - a long day but the girl's enjoyed it and had another half day on Green Island which was a bit rushed but we thought a full day would be too much for the girls. We chose the Green Island (?) tour - the staff were very friendly and helpful with the pram, information etc. Thank you for your assistance in booking the accommodation, it was great to have a single point of contact. Hi Megan, Thanks for your email. We had a lovely relaxing time, warm and very comfortable. (Its freezing down here so we havent adjusted too well!) Getting onto your questions ..... a) Palm Cove is certainly one of those hidden treasures. The atmosphere was friendly, warm and welcoming. Thoroughly enjoyed our 6 days, if not out and about relaxing at the pool was an ideal way to pass the time.We visited the reef on a half day excursion, probably could have stayed longer but did what we wanted to do whilst we were out there (snorkeling and glass bottom boat). Also did the skyrail. It was a fantastic experience. Wandering around the villiage (Kuranda) was a worthwile experience although it has certainly become more tourist focused than what I remember 10 years ago! We did the boat cruise while up the mountain which was probably one of the highlights as we saw turtles and baby crocodiles just doing their own thing!We hired a car for our visit which certainly made it easier to get to the supermarket! By having the car we got to Port Douglas and further north and back to Cairns for a little bit of shopping! It also made it a bit easier for my husband to get to the golf courses. Megan I was a tad disappointed with our accommodation. The apartment itself was lovely but it was so dark and we struggled to see the ocean views (that we paid for!) Sitting at the table outdoors we could not see anything, the beautiful tropical plants are quite tall and block out any view that their might be. I think it is a bit rich advertising this apartment with ocean views as there are none, unless you stand on top of the chairs. We were not able to enjoy a glass of wine (or anything for that matter) while watching the ocean. We loved the resort, just disappointed that we didnt get the views that we paid extra for! b) The service provided by FNQ Apartments is up there with the best. The friendliness shown over the email was outstanding, it kind of made us feel special in knowing that someone cared about our children and that they would really enjoy the pool at the resort we stayed in. (and you were right!) I guess I am saying that the advice given was exact! Thankyou. I was taken aback by the effort taken to answer all my questions and in particular emailing me a breakfast menu from one of the restaurants. Thankyou again. The voucher system worked really well and I would have no hesitations in recommending your service to anyone venturing up that way. Sorry for delay in replying still trying to catch up on my work from having a week off! This was my first visit to Cairns and I really enjoyed the lifestyle and holiday atmosphere. As I was there on business (my daughters basketball) sightseeing was restricted this was very disappointing I certainly hope to return one day. I did manage to get to the Reef and also managed to get sea-sick but this did not stop me from snorkelling and doing a reef walk which was great fun. Would thoroughly recommend it! We ended up driving up to Kuranda due to time restraints and included a visit to Crystal Cascades for a swim. We all enjoyed Regency Palms Apartments nice and quiet, staff very helpful and friendly and because we were there for basketball location was not an issue. If I returned I would probably like to be a little closer to The Esplanade but on this occasion it all worked out great. It only took us 5 minutes to get to the Basketball Stadium! We ended up at The Esplanade almost every night just enjoying the atmosphere, but found the restaurant prices very expensive. Still looking for a reasonably priced, healthy meal option! More than happy with the service provided by FNQ and would have not hesitation in using your company in the future. Hopefully next time it will be for a more relaxing holiday with time to enjoy all the sights Cairns has to offer. Regards Margaret

Hi Sara, Winsome and myself were very happy with everything, it was fantastic. We appreciated the tour we received when arriving and the rundown on the facilities. We didn't really participate in any tours or planned activities, as we had a wedding to attend on Saturday, and we much prefer to poke around and discover things ourselves. In regard to the standard of satisfaction with your services, we were extremely satisfied. Friendly service and a great price, can't ask for more than that! The only things I could recommend is explaining if Internet is available in the room, or if we can pay the Sea Temple for Internet access to our room. Or possibly explaining where in Palm Cove there is Internet access. I know you go on holidays to escape all that, but especially for people our age, it's almost a necessity just for communication. The only other thing that would have been nice is a bit of an insiders or locals guide to the restaurants of the area (I did look through the package we were given when we arrived...though I didn't see anything like this. Please correct me if there was already something like this in there). Maybe broken up by meal, eg. a few places listed for Breakfast, with some of the dishes available with a few ideas of prices to expect at each, etc. Because so many of the restaurants are quite expensive, it's nice to find a few little places that have a cheap breakfast, or a quick and easy pizza or something for lunch. I have already recommended the website to so many friends and co-workers and a few people at work are driving up to Palm Cove soon. Expect plenty of referrals from us.Thanks again.- Tom

Hello FNQ yes all went very well.I wish to thank you for all of your assistance with our bookings. Having lived in the area some time ago and being in Port Douglas mainly for a wedding, holiday activities were not high on the list.Travelling from Melbourne in winter we were more than happy to relax on one of the many fantastic beaches. We were very happy with the standard of our accommodation, and the service that we received at the places we visited.I did go to the outer reef on one day and I must say that I was a little disappointed, since the cyclone the condition of the reef has suffered some what and I feel that this should have possibly been stressed prior to the company taking our booking as it is not an inexpensive day. There were a few small things with the accommodation such as no bath in the bathroom, with a 2 year old this was a small problem.The kitchen equipment could have also been a little more extensive.And the people staying in the unit above who were playing basket ball at 10pm at night on their timber floor could have been a little more considerate. Hi Sara,Just arrived home midnight last night. Had a fabulous time. Weather fantastic. The apartment was great and amphora setting beautiful however I think it is very much for families more than couples. There were many children which we dont mind but next time we would choose somewhere a bit more focused on couples. Babies and kids crying early can be a bit annoying.I just thought this info would be helpful for future clients. All in all it was terrific and we certainly will be back again. We loved the look of Peppers but I thinkthat might be well above our budget unless you have special deals there too. We went to Port Douglas a couple of times which was great. Didnt go out to the reef it was pretty windy but we were looking for a restful holiday this time. Your service has been perfect and will always use you and recommend you to friends. Weather was great and have come back to 14 degree highs so the Winter coat has come out againa) your impressions of your holiday and the activities that you participated in.We had 10 days in Cairns and surrounding area. The accommodation in Cairns (Southern Cross Atrium Apartments) was excellent and of a very high standard. Always saw someone working about painting or cleaning which seemed to reflect the quality of the accommodation. In general, the staff were helpful and very happy to answer our questions. The apartments were very central and made getting around Cairns on foot very easy. Our second stop was Palm Cove. Accommodation, I thought was just average (mainly kitchen cupboards just smelt unclean or something like that). We understand that the apartment is due for renovation but we did have a view of the beach and Helen and Leo were most helpful.We thought the SkyRail was very impressive and asset to the area.b) the standards and your satisfaction with our servicesI found you guys very helpful and would recommend you to any friends travelling to the Cairns area. The follow up e-mails are an excellent idea and the opportunity to provide feedback.
