THE CLASSIC KURANDA EXPERIENCE

The day commences with a journey on the breathtaking Kuranda Scenic Railway. After arriving at tropical Kuranda Station there is free time to explore the village including the famous Kuranda markets. From here it is onto Rainforestation Nature Park, boasting 40 hectares of gardens and rainforest set amidst World Heritage areas.

Multiaward winning Skyrail Rainforest Cableway

A collections of unique experience awaits. Ride an amphibious army duck through the rainforest. An experienced driver/guide will explain the mysteries of the ancient ferns and trees and spot a variety of native fauna normally difficult to see.

Visit the all new Koala and Wildlife Park and come face to face with crocodiles, cuddle a koala and hand feed barramundi or kangaroos and wallabies. View other native species, including rainforest pythons.

The Dreamtime Walk provides a comprehensive introduction to Aboriginal and Island culture and history with practical experiences including boomerang lessons and spear throwing. Then, in the rainforest amphitheatre witness the dynamic performance of the Pamagirri Dancers. The amphitheatre is a totally natural setting - no special effect or lighting is used - the rainforest serves as the theatre walls and the sounds of the forest and the didgeridoo create the backing music!

Return to Cairns via the scenic Kennedy Highway overlooking the Coral sea or ride the Skyrail cable car from Kuranda to Caravonica, at the bottom of the range your coach awaits you to transfer you back to your accommodation.
