Resort studio: Airconditioned, plasma TV, ensuite, tea and coffee facilities, plus a small fridge. It sleeps two.

Ocean suite: Luxuriously appointed, one-bedroom suite, balcony, ocean views, kitchenette, queen bed, plasma TV, lounge and dining area, ensuite and sleeps up to four. There is an option of the two-bedroom suite which sleeps up to six people.

Beach cabins: On the beach, two bedrooms, balcony and ocean views, plasma TV, tea and coffee facilities. These cabins sleep up to four guests.

Penthouse: There is only one, luxuriously appointed, four bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchenette, lounge and dining room area, ocean views, two large balconies, master bedroom has a spa bath and it can host up to eight people.

 

Ferry transfers: $65 return for an adult and children are $30 return. Ferries leave daily from Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal at 8.30am and 10am and depart Fitzroy Island at 4.30pm.

 

Facilities: The resort is glorious and you’ll see that the moment you step off the ferry. It boasts a large pool and swim-up bar, mini supermarket, restaurant and cafe, in-house cinema, tour desk, public phone, ATM, internet and mobile coverage and guest laundry.

 

Activities:  Not only are there adventures to be had under the water on the Great Barrier Reef, you can hire a kayak or windsurfer or take it all in dry comfort in the glass-bottom boat.

But if you are a little more daring, be sure to try the Aqajet.

Powered under water by tow jets, let it do the work while you peruse the pristine fringe reefs and all the wildlife that goes with it.

But if you just want a day to yourself, check out the resort’s Restaurant and Foxy\'s Bar and Cafe where much of the vegetables, greens and herbs are grown on-site. Or take in a trek around the island. There are plenty of walks to go on.
