Learning to dive on the Great Barrier Reef can be life changing for many visitors to Cairns but what do you do with the kids? If your kids are aged 8-12 years and have no medical conditions preventing them from diving (eg. asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, taking Ritalin etc), then they can take part in Scuba Rangers. Children over 12 can take part in any normal dive course.
The Scuba Rangers program was co-developed by SSI in 2000.
In Cairns, Ambeau Sport & Rec offer Scuba Ranger classes during school holidays for 4 students at a time. They also operate all the diving for Reef Magic Cruises so the whole family can learn to dive with them and then undertake the open water component of the course at the Reef Magic pontoon.
