Many seasoned travelers have experience with booking private apartments in Holiday Resorts or Apartment complexes.  It is an option available all over the world and one that I have personally used over the last 9 years.  However lots of people do not understand the ease and value behind this holiday option.

Almost all apartments in Resorts and Holiday Complexes are owned by people just like you and me.  These owners have the option to let the apartment themselves using their own websites and such like, to have their apartment with a private letting agent or to have their apartment letting managed by the Resort as the Property Manager.  Usually, but not always,  a booking with the apartment owner or private letting agent will save you a lot of money.

There are some things that will help you navigate the booking options more easily. 

First of all, it can be quite time consuming and confusing trawling through the  massive amount of websites and information that exists for every internet search that you might do and sometimes you think that you have found the best possible deal but then try to find the website again and you can\'t.  A good booking agent will make it easy for you by booking across most of the options that exist and will be able to give you availability and the best rates for each option.  Sometimes that best rate will be a direct booking with the Resort or Holiday Complex.

Should you choose to explore the privately let apartment option, save yourself some time and let your booking agent do the research for you.  There are many private letting agents from whom they can source apartments and they know them all as well as the most reliable.

If you go with a privately let apartment you want to ensure that you are getting both a good deal and a good quality apartment.  Some people think that a direct booking with an apartment owner is too risky and prefer to book with a third party who they know and trust.  When you are booking a private apartment be sure to ask a few questions such as; will it be in as good condition as the Resort apartments, will we be able to use all Resort facilities, will it be presented ready for us to use as the Resort apartments are, are the apartments cleaned during your stay, what happens if there is something wrong with the apartment eg a blown light bulb – who do you talk to about that.  You also need to know about cancellation policies and payment arrangements, how you will be check in and whether there are any hidden costs such as departure cleans.

From personal experience and that of many of our customers, privately let apartments can be a terrific option, often you can save money and get that fantastic Resort experience.

However they are not for everyone, usually they do not have some of the Resort inclusions such as daily maid service, room service and running a tab for your room as part of the basic cost.  If these are critical to you having a wonderful holiday you might be better off to pay the higher price and book direct with the Resort.
