Our holiday was great (especially the weather) accommodation and service at Garrick House was exceptional. We were granted the late check out and it was perfect and at no extra cost, we would certainly stay there again and as we usually come up each year we wont have to look around for somewhere else....We have stayed at Garrick House a few times years ago but it has been updated and the outdoor pool area was fantastic. We went to the Daintree Village, and we always go on the Lady Douglas and we always enjoy that trip the most and again it didnt disappoint. We were very happy with FNQ as your emails and booking details were perfect and we would book again through you when we come up.
Thank You Diane
We had a fabulous week. Garrick house was fantastic and Heidi was just lovely. Considering the horrendous weather Q'sland is having we were indeed fortunate to have a clear week.
We arrived home Saturday night but I'm afraid it has taken me this long to get to my emails. I want to thank you very much for all the wonderful, friendly and helpful assistance you have given us. We had a fantastic time in Cook Town and Port Douglas, and a huge part of the enjoyment was due to the excellent motels that you booked for us. We really enjoyed the beautiful resort at Cook Town, although we only had 2 days we certainly made good use of the lovely pool which was one of the nicest we've seen. We didn't actually get to take part in any tours of the area but were still able to have a really good look around the town and surrounding area in the hire car. The motel appartment at Port Douglas was huge with 2 lovely balconies. It was in a perfect position, being a couple of minutes walk to the beach and the main street. We didn't take part in any tours at Port Douglas either because my husband and I, together with the couple we travelled with, have been there several times and have probably seen most of what there is to see. This holiday was more about resting, recouperating, swimming and enjoying the beautiful weather that we miss in Geelong. We did a lot of that and thoroughly enjoyed our time. The only negative thing I could say was that our time in the area was way too short. I'm already thinking about our next trip to the area, perhaps next year. I won't hesitate to contact you then. In the meantime, my husband and I are celebrating our wedding anniversary next month I will be sure to contact your sister company and hopefully book that trip. I really appreciate all the effort you went to, for us Sara, and thank you very much.
Best wishes and regards,
As mentioned Garrick House at Port Douglas was roomier and better than expected, great staff [Tania?] - good facilities, closeness to shops and the best beach. The decor was just what you would expect in a 'tropical' climate - light cool tiled floor, lovely and bright with view over pool, nice wall prints, good size bedroom and very clean. We were a little unsure about the 'unattended reception' which could be clarified by mentioning the direct phone in foyer for arrivals. We were attended to quickly on arrival and missing TV remote soon remedied. My only complaint was that the cushions on the suite could do with a little more padding. Port Douglas was our favourite and a good base for a day trips to Daintree where we took the larger half hour boat trip and walk in the Daintree forest. The Daintree boat skipper was very knowledgeable, genuinely enthusiastic and very interesting. $20 slightly overpriced for a very short trip, even with all the 'wildlife, including 3 crocs.
