Very happy to leave a review:
We were in room 11 and other than the bathroom being rather tired everything was in good condition and had the advantage of having the only private access to the pool, which was lovely and clean. Less than a five minutes walk to the beach and Macrossan St on the doorstep. Location is excellent and great value for money
We travel to Pt. Douglas each year and are rarely disappointed. This trip was especially an enjoyable experience, the town looked as though it had been spruced up (has been looking a bit tired in past years). The shops were looking better, most of them occupied, looking busy and giving a good vibe to the town. Well done. We always stay at Driftwood Manteray in unit 5, because it has a walk-in shower recess, plus second bathroom and bedroom. As a senior it’s important to have a safe ‘walk in’ shower and not have to clamber over a bath. The unit had just been refurbished and it looked wonderful, new kitchen, new drapes, new furniture, spotlessly clean........it really looked attractive and luxurious at an affordable price. In the past this unit also looked a bit tired and grubby – no longer, congratulations. The on-site manager was also extremely helpful and friendly.
We very much enjoyed our stay in Port Douglas. Fortunately, the apartment had efficient aircon! The couple of issues we had have been reported to Tom at Seascape for attention. A: We appreciated being on Macrossan Street and rarely had to take the vehicles out of the garage. We enjoyed our day on/under the water but were dismayed at the state of the Reef. Having first dived here 30 years ago, the degradation of this underwater wonder is such a disappointment. The young boat crew, while enthusiastic, had no experience of the Reef as it used to be. MUCH must be done to preserve what remains of this national treasure! Food in town was extremely expensive but of good quality. Service at the places we visited was pleasant. B: Your assistance with finding the “Driftwood Manatary” was very much appreciated. The apartment’s location and price were very good and your prompt attention to my emails was valued. Thanks again to you and Brenda for your pleasant and professional service.
We loved our time in Port Douglas (and hated going home to Ballarat!) We came up for a family wedding, which was a wonderful occasion. We spent most of our stay enjoying time with family, given we were travelling with young children it was mostly by the pool! Our one tour was "Tony's Tropical Tours" Mossman Gorge / Daintree / Cape Tribulation tour and it was fantastic! The scenery was gorgeous but what made our day special was our tour guide, Dave, was so informative on a wide range of topics and managed to keep us all interested all day. The accommodation was well presented and maintained. I had no issues contacting the managers when issues arose (air con problems on the first day - had a repair man on site in 3mins from the time I called!!! That is service!!!) It was well suited to our needs, although warning future guests about the double storey and split level layout would have been appreciated when booking, in case some guests couldn't manage the stairs. Overall, a very enjoyable holiday!
Had a great 10 days at Port Douglas and Palm Cove. The apartments were fantastic. Appreciate your help with our holiday arrangements.
